Leeds United chief says 49ers are doing something ”never seen before”

The 49ers are not the most popular people at Leeds United right now. After what happened in the latter part of the transfer window, many fans have not been in a pleasant mood.

The ending of the transfer window brought a lot of doubt and confusion among the fanbase. Leeds started the transfer window like a house on fire; the team made over five new additions in the middle of the training camp in Germany. It looked like a big sign of things to come. The signings were not bad too; big names like Jaka Bijol and Anton Stach were brought on board.

What happened this past week has seen most of the fanbase question the ownership and their ambition. This is despite the club signing 10 players in this same transfer window. Leeds United managing director Robbie Evans sat with local media to discuss what happened in the summer window. And according to him, the 49ers have invested more than any other owner:

“Everyone assumes that cash is infinite and we’ll max out PSR. My objective every year is to max out PSR, irrespective of the cash. We’re injecting tons of cash, far more than any ownership group has before.”

“But that’s not the solution. And the reason I often mention, you can check the accounts and they come out, because we understand that PSR is very opaque.

“For the average fan, it can become this scapegoat or boogeyman to serve whatever purpose it has to serve in the narrative of the club.

“So rather than let it be some kind of fungible shadow scapegoat, I want to keep reminding folks you could just check the record when it comes out. These are all verifiable facts.”
