Rodrigo Gomes insists Wolves can still take positives from their disappointing Premier League defeat to Everton and the way they fought until the end.
Gomes scored his side’s second goal to set up a grandstand finish at Molineux last Saturday but, ultimately, it was not enough as Wolves lost 3-2.
Vitor Pereira’s men have gone into the international break winless, pointless and bottom of the table after the first three games of the campaign.
“I think we need to take that (heart and belief) because we were fighting until the end. Unfortunately, we didn’t achieve the win or the draw, but we need to work,’’ said Gomes.
“We need to correct some things and some mistakes we did in this game to increase our level. We know we can do that, but the good of this game is the spirit we put in the game and fighting until the end. This is Wolves.
“I think we (the substitutes) did a good impact. I was able to score a goal, but I think in every match this season, the subs have come on and changed the game.
“In the last game, (Jorgen Strand) Larsen came from the bench for two goals. But I think this is the spirit we need to have, if we want to come in and help the team.
“It was a good goal for us but, unfortunately, it’s three defeats to start the season. But we know our quality, we know we have the capacity to win games, to fight to stay in the Premier League.
“But we also need to correct some mistakes we did, and I think if we do that, we increase our level and we are going to start winning games.”
