Two Denmark internationals left Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
At the end of the 2024/25 season, it was decided that Christian Eriksen would leave Manchester United after his contract expired.
Eriksen has yet to find a new club, which explains why the Danish veteran was not called up to the national team for the September internationals.
The 33-year-old isn’t the only Dane to have left Old Trafford during the summer.
United agreed to loan Rasmus Hojlund to Napoli, with a £38 million clause that Napoli can activate once the Serie A champions secure Champions League qualification.
The former Atalanta striker struggled in front of goal during his two seasons at United, before Ruben Amorim revamped his attack in the transfer window.
That means Patrick Dorgu is the only senior Denmark international in United’s squad.

Dorgu has been speaking to the Danish media about losing two compatriots in United’s first team squad this summer.
In the build-up to Denmark’s scoreless draw against Scotland, Dorgu was asked by Ekstra Bladet about seeing Eriksen and Hojlund leave United.
The left wing-back explained that transfers are part of football and players come and go, but he was more surprised by Hojlund’s exit.
“That’s how it is in football,” Dorgu said, as translated by Sport Witness.
“You never know when it’s your turn to move on. We knew it would happen to Christian, but it was perhaps a bigger shock that Rasmus had to move on.
“I talked to him a lot during the process and could sense which way it was going. Hopefully, we will now see each other every time on the national team.”
Dorgu went on to add that he was happy for the initial Danish support when he moved to Manchester, but now he is ready to be independent.
“I have been very happy to be teammates with Christian and Rasmus,” he added. “It was a big plus for me that they were at the club when I joined. That way it was easier to become part of the squad.
“But it was in no way decisive for my choice of Manchester United. I was thinking much more about the coach’s plans and ideas with me when I had to make the decision.
“I travelled alone to Italy when I was 17. I am also alone in Manchester and I am fine that way. You become incredibly strong mentally when you travel alone so early, because you have to make a lot of decisions. I am sure that mental strength has also helped me on the pitch.”
United do have Chido Obi in the youth ranks, who has a future in the senior Denmark team.
Dorgu overlooked on the bench against Scotland
Dorgu didn’t play a single minute in Denmark’s World Cup qualifier against Scotland.
Denmark played with a back-three system with two wing-backs, similarly to United, but Dorgu was overlooked.
WfL Wolfsburg full-back Joakim Mæhle started ahead of Dorgu.
The United full-back will be aiming to cement a place in the Denmark line-up in time for next summer’s World Cup, granted Kasper Hjulmand’s side secures qualification.
