Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim faces a big selection dilemma ahead of the Manchester derby next weekend.
The Red Devils have struggled so far this season, and there has been plenty of criticism of goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, who made an error leading to Arsenal’s winning goal on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
Amorim selected Andre Onana for United’s visit to Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup, but the Cameroonian also made an error as the Red Devils slumped to an embarrassing defeat.
United have now signed Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp, and Amorim will now have to decide which ‘keeper to start against City in the derby.
In the meantime, however, it has emerged that United failed in an attempt to sign a Germany international over the summer.
CaughtOffside claims that Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller rejected a move from the Manchester giants late in the transfer window.

United were on the hunt for a central midfielder and club staff identified Stiller, 24, as an ideal target to bolster Amorim’s squad.
Stiller has a £32 million release clause in his current contract and the report claims that United considered triggering it, however the clause is only valid in certain windows.
Bundesliga side Stuttgart also having the ability to cancel the clause for a fee of just £1.73 million, according to the report, which puts the German side in a commanding position.
Stiller joined Stuttgart from fellow German side Hoffenheim two years ago and has since played 85 times for his current club across all competitions.
Over the past couple of seasons he has established himself as one of the best central midfielders in the German top flight, but his performances have attracted interest from elsewhere.
