Wolves have publicly backed Jorgen Strand Larsen to put the Newcastle United transfer saga behind him.
Newcastle United made two bids for Strand Larsen during a dramatic window in which the club were desperately pursuing a striker.
With Callum Wilson and eventually Alexander Isak departing St James’ Park, Newcastle needed two forwards.
Strand Larsen, who scored 14 goals in his first Premier League season last time out, was one of their targets.
Still, Wolves stood firm over the 25-year-old and refused to sell. Newcastle, meanwhile, ended up moving for Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade.
Now, Wolves chairman Jeff Shi has backed the striker to move on from all the speculation.

Jorgen Strand Larsen told to forget about Newcastle United
Earlier this week, Shi sat down to discuss how the transfer window had gone for Wolves.
He revealed that he expects the Norway international to put all the talk of moving on behind him and forget about the links with Newcastle.

“The market, of course, every person has some chance to come in your career, but he is a boy, I believe 100% he will forget about that, then get up, then move on, then commit to the team immediately and after the window shuts,” he said.
“So, you will see him play and perform very well.”
For their part, Wolves are ready to offer Strand Larsen a new contract despite the fact he only signed for them on a permanent basis earlier this summer.
Are Newcastle United still interested in Jorgen Strand Larsen?
The fact Newcastle were prepared to pay big money for the player suggests those behind the scenes at the club were keen on him.
Still, Newcastle are not expected to move for Strand Larsen in January. They will likely have money to spend on other targets, however.
They now have their strikers and the position, hopefully, will not need to be addressed for another few seasons.
Wissa may not have been a long-term addition but Woltemade will hope to develop into a Premier League marksman over the next few years.
For now, at least, Strand Larsen and Newcastle don’t look as if their paths will cross.
