Real Madrid defender David Alaba talked to the press during Austria’s training camp this FIFA break, revealing that he wasn’t interested in leaving the club this summer.
”I’ve been in this football thing long enough and rumors are part of the business. Fortunately, they’re things I don’t dwell on for long and I laughed a lot because none of it was true, it was a lie,” said Alaba when asked about the rumors suggesting that he could leave Real Madrid.
Alaba has recovered from a serious ACL injury, and while it seems clear that he will not have a prominent role this season, the defender explains that he is feeling better.
”Now I am fine, I have made a lot of progress lately. I think I could play 90 minutes with the national team, although I don’t know if it would make sense. In the next matches you will be able to see how I am. My goal is to play and be on the field,” he added.
