West Ham United haven’t had the best of starts in the Premier League this season.
A 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest last time out has improved the mood around the London Stadium, but Graham Potter is still under pressure.

Niclas Fullkrug has been criticised recently, but there are still some shining lights in this team.
Jarrod Bowen remains a consistent beacon of hope at West Ham, and speaking to BBC Sport, the attacker has given a positive verdict on another of his West Ham teammates.

Jarrod Bowen says Kostas Mavropanos is underrated
Bowen was asked to name the most underrated player in the West Ham squad.
The attacker didn’t have to think for very long before naming Kostas Mavropanos as the most under-appreciated player at the club.
The Greek defender joined West Ham back in 2023 for £19m, and has since established himself as a key member of the squad.
West Ham’s defensive record this season has been poor, and it’s perhaps no coincidence that their first clean sheet of the season came in Mavropanos’ first start of the season.

Bowen says that Mavropanos is West Ham’s most underrated player, and he had an interesting record alongside the centre-half.
Indeed, while Mavropanos is a solid defender, West Ham haven’t had the best results when he and Bowen have shared a pitch together.

Games 58
Wins 21
Draws 16
Losses 21
21 wins in 58 matches isn’t a great return, and it has to be said that West Ham have gone backwards over the past two years.
Bowen and Mavropanos remain two of the Hammers’ better performers, but their teammates around them will have to step up if Graham Potter’s side are going to achieve anything close to being meaningful this season.
