£47.5m Manchester City star leaves coaches applauding in international training

With the international break in full swing, most of Manchester City’s first-team players are currently away representing their countries.

Manchester City haven’t had the best start to the season, so hopefully the players will impress on international duty and pick up confidence.

John Stones was one of the City players on international duty, but the England defender has since dropped out due to a muscular issue.

Prior to pulling out of England duty, he did something in training that left his coaches applauding.

The latest on John Stones’ injury

Stones has sadly been injury-prone for some time now, making just 20 appearances last season – of which 11 were in the Premier League – due to a number of issues.

“He came with minor issues and didn’t progress as we thought and hoped he would, so he left camp this morning,” England manager Thomas Tuchel said on Friday.

Tuchel then told talkSPORT, as per The Independent: “He’s very upset. He’s very upset because he does everything on a daily basis to be fit.

“Now he has again minor issues. It will cost him two caps for the national team. It will maybe cost him some minutes for Manchester City.

“So, he is very, very disappointed and upset. He was a big part of camp so far.”

Stones is currently being assessed, as per Premier Injuries, and he has been deemed 50/50 ahead of the Manchester derby next week.
