‘Practically invisible’ – Calls for West Ham star to be dropped, ‘by far the worst player’

West Ham United midfielder Tomáš Souček ‘has been captain for too long’ with the Czech Republic and now needs to be replaced.

That’s [according to Medium.cz](https://medium.seznam.cz/clanek/odborny-laik-tomas-soucek-je-kapitanem-prilis-dlouho-nastal-cas-na-zmenu-184766), who believe it’s time for change after the West Ham midfielder was ‘by far the worst player’ in the 2-0 win over Montenegro.

They say that over time, the West ham midfielder’s contribution to the national team continues to decline and, now is the time for someone else to take the captaincy.

His latest performance is labelled as ‘unsatisfactory’, and it’s claimed he was ‘practically invisible’ throughout as other players in the squad stood up to be counted in Friday’s win.

Medium explain that while the West Ham man didn’t make any mistakes going backwards, he didn’t add anything either. Indeed he ‘often spoiled the pass’ and offered nothing going forwards.

Indeed, when it came to attacking, he was often the cause of attacks breaking down and when he got the ball, ‘he usually lost it soon’ as passes didn’t’ find teammates.

This is all unacceptable as far as they’re concerned, with more expected from a captain in such a big game. They suggest he could be named as the worst player on the pitch and, if you were avoiding being harsh, at least ‘the least significant’.

His captaincy has now become ‘exhausted’ and his effect on the team as a quiet leader after five years is ‘fading’. In fact, the captain’s armband is ‘slowly becoming unbecoming of him’.

They believe that he should be replaced by Wolves summer signing Ladislav Krejčí. He has the experience and energy the team needs as far as they’re concerned. Whether the Czech set up agrees, remains to be seen.
