Real Madrid’s transfer activity may not be over, despite the closure of the La Liga window on September 1.
With the Turkish Süper Lig transfer window open until September 12, two of the club’s players could be heading to Turkey, according to recent reports.
Raúl Asencio, a 22-year-old defender, has been linked with a surprise exit to Besiktas.
According to Diario AS, manager Xabi Alonso is reportedly unconvinced by Asencio, who has not played a single minute since a difficult performance in the Club World Cup semi-finals.
However, Asencio has reportedly informed Alonso that he is happy to stay and fight for his place against the likes of Dean Huijsen, Antonio Rüdiger, and Éder Militão.
Meanwhile, Fenerbahce is reportedly considering a bid for veteran defender David Alaba.
According to Diario Sport, the Austrian international is also not in Alonso’s immediate plans as he continues to recover from a knee injury. His contract is set to expire next summer and will not be extended.
Despite the recent departure of manager José Mourinho, Fenerbahce is still looking to strengthen its squad.
Alaba’s experience would be a significant asset to their backline. However, his high salary could be a major hurdle.
Fenerbahce would need to convince the former Bayern Munich star to take a significant wage cut, and he may prefer to wait for a more lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League in 2026.
