This always had the makings of being a big summer for Nottingham Forest in their bid to continue on an upward curve.
The Reds had some excellent foundations to build upon, following last season's seventh-placed finish in the Premier League. But they went into the transfer window well aware much was riding on them getting their business right.
Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo hit out at the slow pace of deals being done prior to his team’s opening game of the season. But the Portuguese has certainly been backed with new additions.
Forest ended the window having made a total of 13 signings. Owner Evangelos Marinakis certainly splashed the cash in a bid to help the club kick on again this term.
A number of players headed in the opposite direction as efforts were made to move on those unlikely to see much game time at the City Ground.
