It was a busy transfer window for Arne Slot and Liverpool as they worked up until the last minute to add to their squad. By the time the window closed, seven new players had arrived at Anfield, with the £125 million capture of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak completed on deadline day.
He joined Freddie Woodman, Giovanni Leoni, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz in making the move to Merseyside. Liverpool did, however, also see a late move for Marc Guehi fall through in the final few hours of the window, with Crystal Palace pulling the plug on the deal.
Despite that, the window will be viewed as a success for Arne Slot and his team, who were the biggest spenders in the Premier League with an outlay of over £400m.
But that expenditure was offset by the departures of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Jarell Quansah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
And now, according to Transfermarkt, the total squad value of this season’s squad, following the transfer window, is around €1.12bn (£970m).
That’s a difference of around £145.1 million, as last season's squad was said to be worth around €951million (£824.9m) by Transfermarkt.
In the latest squad value list produced by Transfermarkt, Florian Wirtz is valued at €140 million (£121.4m), and is closely followed by fellow summer signing Alexander Isak, who is valued at €120 million (£104.1m).
While last season the most valuable member of the squad was Alexis Mac Allister, who was given a value of €100 million (£86.7m).
