Mikel Arteta is hoping this international break will give some of his injured players a chance to recover and return to the pitch when the season resumes on September 13th v Nottingham Forest.

After just thee matches this season, the Gunners already have seven stars on the sidelines.

Bukayo Saka, Ben White, Leandro Trossard, William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus, Christian Norgaard and Kai Havertz.

Saka, Havertz and Saliba are longer-term injuries, with White, Trossard and Norgaard should most likely to return after the beak.

Gabriel Jesus continuer to rehab his knee and has resumed some training.

As far back as I can remember following Arsenal, the club has always faced major injury problems. This year is no exception, and with so many injuries this early in the season it has to raise a few questions. Is it the team’s training process and/or conditioning protocols, or is Arsenal just that unlucky keeping players git?

So, whatever the problem, it’s good the club had such a solid summer transfer window giving given Arteta the most squad depth he has had since taking over a manager.

However, even with that said, let’s hope the injury list begins to shrink in the days ahead.
