NY Giants Standout Issues Confident Statement Ahead of 2025 Season

This Sunday, the New York Giants will kick off the 2025 season with a matchup against the Washington Commanders. As they prepare to embark on this journey, one of their top prospects opened up about his confidence levels.

Development remains a key focus for the Giants, as they are looking to build out for the future. Among the players they are hoping can take a big step forward this year is wide receiver Malik Nabers.

After being a top ten pick in 2024, Nabers put together an impressive rookie campaign. Multiple players going under center for New York didn't impact him, as he still managed to notch over 1,200 yards and seven touchdowns.

In light of New York's attempt to get some stability at quarterback, Nabers will attempt to continue growing into a top-tier talent in his sophomore season.

Malik Nabers opens up on mindset ahead of second NFL season

While speaking with the media earlier this week, Nabers was asked about his mindset now compared to this time last year. With a year in the NFL under his belt now, the young wideout is feeling far more relaxed and confident heading into the season opener.

After establishing himself last year, Nabers is focused on blossoming into a star for the Giants.

"I would kind of say I'm less anxious. I kind of wasn't like worried about the first game," Nabers told reporters. "But I'm kind of dialed down and did it already so it's just I'm ready to go show the world. Just another year, just trying to build on last year and keep on going."

If last year is any indicator, Nabers could be in store for a big outing on Sunday. He had his breakout showing in the pros against the Commanders, racking up 127 yards and a touchdown in Week 2.

The key things for Nabers in 2025 will be the person throwing him the ball. This time around, he'll be catching passes from a former Super Bowl champion in Russell Wilson. Dating back to mandatory minicamp, the two have spent a lot of time together in an effort to build a strong connection.

Though injuries have kept him limited to some degree, Nabers seems ready to be an impact player for the Giants as they strive to be a more competitive squad in 2025.
