The Nottingham Forest midfielder took his chance to impress but few others could say the same after a lifeless performance
**_England 2-0 Andorra_** _(Garcia OG 25′, Rice 67′)_
VILLA PARK — England maintained their 100 per cent win record in Group K with an underwhelming victory against minnows Andorra.
The Three Lions predictably dominated from start to finish, but needed a helping hand for their first goal, with Christian Garcia heading into his own net from a Noni Madueke cross.
Declan Rice doubled England’s lead with a header midway through the second half and despite having 83 per cent possession, that’s how it ended for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
Here’s how the players rated out of 10:
**Jordan Pickford:** A clean sheet was never in doubt against a team that have now gone 15 games without a goal **6/10**
**Reece James:** Fitness-permitting, James looks to be Tuchel’s first-choice right back and showed why his former Chelsea boss rates him so highly by producing a sumptuous cross for Rice to head home **8/10**
**Marc Guehi:** Almost put Pickford in trouble with a risky pass across goal but was assured otherwise in his first match since the collapse of his deadline move to Liverpool **6/10**
**Dan Burn:** Tuchel certainly seems to be a fan of the 33-year-old, who provides a left-footed option at centre-back. Difficult to assess his World Cup credentials when his three caps have come against Albania and Andorra (twice) **6/10**
**Myles Lewis-Skelly:** Started despite limited involvement for Arsenal so far this season. Committed a couple of needless fouls but linked up well with club colleague Rice down the left **6/10**
**Elliot Anderson:** Made his debut after a stellar year at Nottingham Forest; not Newcastle, Lee Dixon. Mopped up effectively in front of the back four and played with purpose. Missed a huge chance from Kane’s cut-back after regaining possession on the edge of Andorra’s box. An encouraging display **8/10**
**Declan Rice:** Could Anderson be England’s Martin Zubimendi? Arsenal’s new signing has freed Rice to play in a more advanced role and he showed how effective he can be higher up by nodding in England’s second after storming the box **7/10**
**Noni Madueke:** Set up the first goal with a dinked cross that tempted Christian Garcia into his doomed header. Occasionally sloppy in possession – Tuchel was visibly annoyed when one slack pass spoiled a promising attack – but was England’s most lively forward **7/10**
**Eberechi Eze:** England’s best chances fell Eze’s way, but he was unable to take them, with a block and point-blank save denying him. Will wonder how he didn’t add to his solitary international goal **6/10**
**Marcus Rashford:** Went close to scoring with a curler that went wide. Has regained his place since Tuchel’s appointment, but hasn’t really taken his chance to nail down the left wing spot and looked disappointed as he came off **5/10**
**Harry Kane:** Very, very quiet to the point of being almost anonymous. Had two shots, but nothing clear-cut and was unusually detached from the game, completing only two passes from eight attempts in 90 minutes **4/10**
**Subs:**
**Morgan Rogers**
**Anthony Gordon**
**Tino Livramento**
**Ezri Konsa**
**Morgan Gibbs-White**
