Anthony was a 10-time All-Star, six-time All-NBA, and so much more.
He was a scoring champion, NCAA champ, three-time gold medalist, and runner-up for Rookie of the Year.
The hype around Anthony was strong when he entered the league in 2003-04.
He got to work right away with an average of 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists during his first year.
He was the most important player in Denver for multiple years before moving on to the New York Knicks, where he created yet another strong legacy.
After that, it was off to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, and Los Angeles Lakers.
At that point in his career, he took on more of a player-coach/mentor role, but Anthony remained a vital part of every squad he was on.
Anthony was a soft-spoken, smart, strategic NBA icon.
He may not have ever won a title, but he was a huge part of the league for many years and inspired numerous players.
He had a special, unique career that deserves to be celebrated.
