Colorado Buffaloes football legend Travis Hunter, set to make his NFL debut on Sunday for the Jacksonville Jaguars after being selected No. 2 overall in the 2025 draft after a blockbuster draft-night trade with the Cleveland Browns, has a younger brother named Trayvis Hunter.
Trayvis is a 3-star receiver and the No. 56-ranked prospect in the state of Georgia who has offers from the Georgia State Panthers, Georgia Southern Eagles, Tennessee State Tigers, and his brother’s other alma mater, the Jackson State Tigers. T.C. Taylor, Deion Sanders’ offensive coordinator and WR coach with the Tigers in 2021 and 2022, is JSU’s new coach.
The Effingham County Rebels junior believes he has the traits to reach the same heights as his 2024 Heisman Trophy-winning brother. Specifically, he feels he’s ahead in the speed department.
“I’m faster,” Trayvis said, per the Effingham Herald. He believes Travis would corroborate that statement.
Rebels head coach John Ford has nothing but positive things to say about Trayvis’s game and his attitude, which is starkly different from his flamboyant older brother’s, as the Effingham Herald’s Donald Heath noted.
“He’s dynamic with the ball in his hands. We try to get him the ball, for sure,” Ford said.
“He carries himself as Trayvis. He’s a great young man, works hard. He’s competitive. I love him.”
Soon enough, the college football world will get a taste of Hunter’s abilities. Don’t be shocked if/when Coach Prime offers him a scholarship to the University of Colorado Boulder, if not a walk-on spot on the Buffs at some point in the future.
