According to a report by Football Insider, Oliver Glasner has created a feeling of brewing fear at Crystal Palace after recent disagreements with Steve Parish over the South London club’s strategy in the summer transfer window. The Eagles are now concerned that the Austrian tactician may depart from Selhurst Park to join another Premier League club after his recent links with Manchester United.
Oliver Glasner has established himself as one of the best managers in the Premier League since joining Crystal Palace midway through the 2023/24 season. A native of Scharding, he spent nearly his entire professional career with SV Ried, hanging up his boots in 2011. The experienced tactician rejoined his boyhood club after entering the managerial sphere.
Since then, the Austrian tactician has enjoyed a meteoric rise after successful stints with LASK, VfL Wolfsburg, and Eintracht Frankfurt. The spell with the latter saw him take Die Adler to the UEFA Champions League for the first time in over six decades after guiding the Bundesliga club to the UEFA Europa League title. However, Glasner has reached the pinnacle of his career with Crystal Palace.
While the Eagles are not a high-profile side, Glasner’s stock has skyrocketed in the last 18 months by guiding them to their first-ever trophy. The South London club backed that up by winning the FA Community Shield, and they will participate in the UEFA Europa Conference League (it should have ideally been the UEFA Europa League).
