Carmelo Anthony teases LeBron James to make huge career decision

Carmelo Anthony jokingly urged LeBron James to retire as he has entered the Hall of Fame, while LeBron, 40, prepares for another season with the Lakers.

Carmelo Anthony was one of the NBA's biggest stars until he retired in 2022. LeBron James has been there alongside him, and the two legends even teamed up during Melo's final NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2021-22.

While appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Anthony jokingly suggested that James should retire as well.

"He's still going, it's unbelievable, man," Anthony said of the 40-year-old. "That's my brother. We talk about being around, being together, being tied, being connected, being talked about since we were 17, 18 years old."

"And for me to be entering the Hall of Fame, and for him, hopefully, to get his ass up out of there and come on over this side (smiles). Enough is enough. Give it a break."

Last season, James averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists over 70 games, earning a spot on the All-NBA Second Team.

This summer, he opted in for his player option, staying with the Lakers for the upcoming season. For the first time in his career, LeBron will be on an expiring contract.

LeBron brought the NBA championship to Los Angeles in 2020, but he's chasing one more—this time alongside Luka Doncic.
