Manchester United handed fresh deadline for Andre Onana transfer as Trabzonspor wait

Manchester United transfer latest with Andre Onana linked with a loan exit

Andre Onana has been linked with a move to Trabzonspor in Turkey

Manchester United could offload Andre Onana on loan this month with the goalkeeper reportedly weighing up a switch to Turkey.

The 29-year-old has played just once this season - in the EFL Cup exit to Grimsby Town - and could be pushed further down the pecking order by deadline day arrival Senne Lammens.

Onana has been linked with a move to Trabzonspor and although the transfer window has closed for Premier League arrivals, clubs can still secure exits for players to leagues where the domestic window is still open.

The transfer window in Turkey remains open until September 12, meaning United have until Friday to wrap up an exit for Onana.

The window in Saudi Arabia is another with plenty of days left to run, closing on September 23. Several Premier League teams have capitalised on the willingness by Saudi Pro League clubs to spend big on talent in recent years. Darwin Nunez was the highest-profile player to leave an English club for Saudi this summer.

Other windows still open include Greece (September 12) and Serbia (September 17).

United signed Lammens on deadline day and also added front pair Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbuemo this summer, along with youngster Diego Leon.

Amorim's side have made a stuttering start to the season, taking four points from three games and suffering a shock EFL Cup defeat to fourth-tier Grimsby Town.

United return to action after the international break with a derby at the Etihad on Sunday, September 14.
