The Panthers could be replacing nearly half of their starting defense from last season, while their offense is back in the control of former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young with a clean slate. Carolina selected a potential difference-maker in wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan from Arizona with the No. 9 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, after closing the season with a 5-12 mark but two wins in its final three games. Young completed 65.9 percent of his passes and threw seven touchdowns to no interceptions over that closing stretch, offering hope he can still realize his potential going into Year 3.

The Jaguars have a new voice and a mission to help quarterback Trevor Lawrence develop into a more impactful player. On that front, the Jacksonville front office has held up its end of the bargain with the addition of wideouts Brian Thomas and Travis Hunter in the first round of the 2024 and ‘25 NFL drafts, respectively. Hunter has a chance to play meaningful snaps at cornerback, too, where his jolt of young energy can help build the culture new coach Liam Coen wants in Duval.

The Panthers and Jaguars are set for a 1 p.m. ET start on FOX. Live streams are available from FuboTV (free trial), SlingTV (low intro rate) and DirecTV (free trial).
