Antony was finally granted his wish to make a permanent move to Real Betis following a period of uncertainty at .

The Brazilian, had returned to Manchester after reigniting his career at Betis, where he scored five goals and provided two assists in 17 La Liga appearances. After months of speculation, the Brazilian departed United on to join Betis permanently.

The Manchester Evening News reported that with up to €3m (£2.6m) in add-ons. The club have also included a 50% sell-on clause to benefit from any future sale of Antony by Betis.

However, claims that the Spanish club will now only have to give United 50 per cent of any profit -commonly known as capital gains - they make from the player in the future, rather than a straight 50 per cent of any future transfer fee.

deal could total up to £22.5m if all add-ons are triggered. The article goes on to claim that Betis will pay just around £3.9 million per year over Antony's five-year contract in Andalusia.

But that amount could reportedly increase by around £435,000 each year if Betis qualify for the or win a European title.

"Only my family knows how difficult it was to be there (in tears)," Antony said in his first interview for Betis. "Training separately... but I knew this incredible moment was coming. Of course, I was afraid it wouldn't happen in the end, but I waited because I had so much faith."

He added: "What a difference! Seville is more beautiful than Manchester. I'm finally here. I spent more than 40 days in a hotel; it was very hard, but everyone knew I wanted to return to Betis. Now with more time, we have so many things to do and achieve.

"I had trouble sleeping after seeing so much affection from the Betis fans; there were people waiting at my house at 2am. Every day I was very anxious, on Sunday everything was ready to travel, but we had to wait. I made it very clear that my first choice was Betis, it was Betis or Betis, there was no other option.

"I spoke to my mother and my sister in Brazil, they were crying, because what happened in Manchester was very difficult... Being separated, but that's part of life, I knew this incredible moment was going to come. These things are already in the past and now we are here, which for me is a dream."

United paid £86m for him from Ajax just three years ago, but the Brazilian has struggled to justify his price tag at, contributing only 12 goals and five assists in 96 appearances.
