Expectations are through the roof for the Buffalo Bills and quarterback Josh Allen, who won his first MVP last season but once again fell short of reaching that ever-elusive Super Bowl when he and his Bills fell in the AFC Championship game to the Kansas City Chiefs.
It’s a long journey to get back to that point, and it starts on Sunday Night Football in a Divisional Round rematch from last year against the Baltimore Ravens, where Allen can begin a potential quest to make NFL history in one interesting category.
Analyst Ari Meirov shared on X that Allen can become the first quarterback ever, and just the fourth player ever, to run for six touchdowns in their first eight NFL seasons, with only Jim Brown, Marshall Faulk, and LaDainian Tomlinson previously accomplishing the feat.

Allen has 27 rushing TDs over the past two seasons and 65 for his career, which is already 45th in NFL history and just 10 behind Cam Newton for the most ever by a quarterback.
His incredible arm talent tends to overshadow his ability as a runner, and few expected him to be this effective on the ground when he was drafted out of Wyoming as a big, rocket-armed, inaccurate gunslinger.
Allen will begin his quest to return to the Super Bowl opposite two-time MVP Lamar Jackson, who is arguably the greatest running quarterback of all time.
It’s hard to believe Allen has already racked up these kinds of numbers before turning 30, and if he continues to churn out rushing totals like this for years to come, he will set the bar impossibly high for future generations.
