Arsenal dealt major injury blow before Nottingham Forest clash

Arsenal defender William Saliba could be set for an extended period on the sidelines with an ankle injury and looks set to miss their meeting with Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Forest return from the international break with a tricky trip to The Emirates to take on an Arsenal side with two victories from its opening three games.

The Gunners were beaten by Liverpool last time out and lost key defender Saliba five minutes into the match at Anfield.

Saliba subsequently pulled out of international duty with France and there are doubts as to whether he will be available for their next camp in October.

L’Equipe reports that Saliba is set to be out for ‘three to four weeks’ with the ankle injury he sustained at Anfield.

Arsenal are also likely to be without England ace Bukayo Saka due to a hamstring injury, while fellow forwards Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are nursing issues too.

New signing Christian Norgaard hasn’t been able to make his debut for Arsenal yet but Ben White could come back into contention after missing their last two matches with a knock.
