For the second straight season, the Lions suffered a disappointing playoff loss after scorching through their regular-season slate with the best mark (15-2) in the NFL. But for all their talent on offense and defense, the Lions fell victim to a red-hot Washington Commanders team in the NFC Wild Card round and saw their season end with a 45-31 loss. Coach Dan Campbell’s team is still among the NFC’s top contenders for a Super Bowl berth in 2025, with quarterback Jared Goff and much of its nucleus back for another run.

The Packers carry bigger ambitions into the 2025 season than their one-and-done postseason appearance after going 11-6 in ‘24. But while they went 10-1 against teams outside their own division, the Pack were just 1-5 against NFC North teams and a combined 0-4 against the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings, who finished first and second in the division, respectively. Green Bay had a top-5 offense in the NFL in terms of total yards (370.8 ypg) and rushing (149.2 ypg) behind new starting running back Josh Jacobs. The Packers added mostly depth pieces in the offseason, but did select a first-round wideout in Matthew Golden in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Lions and Packers are set for a 4:25 p.m. ET start on CBS. Live streams are available from DirecTV (free trial) and FuboTV (low intro rate).

The game will also stream on Paramount+.
