Erling Haaland required stitches after suffering a freak facial injury.

The Manchester City striker is currently away with Norway for their World Cup qualifiers, scoring the only goal of the game as Norway beat Finland 1-0 on Thursday. But the 25-year-old’s preparations for the Moldova game on Tuesday were disrupted when he was forced to have three stitches in his face.

Haaland, who has also become somewhat of a Snapchat influencer as he gives a behind-the-scenes look at his life, took to the social media platform again to show off his latest scar.

The striker first posted a selfie using the mirror in a lift to show off the damage done to the right side of his chin and lip. A scuff around the size of a fingernail was visible on his face, while his lips had numerous cuts and lumps.

Haaland added the caption: “Looks actually quite good” to the first picture before he added the context of the damage to his fans, saying: “Just got banged out by a bus door (thumbs up emoji) 3 stitches (laughing face emoji).”

The pictures of Haaland’s injury were shared on X, with fans reacting in the comments section. One said: “This is might be a warning sign bro, pls don't get injured.”

A second joked: “Bro took a break from scoring hattricks to be a full time Snapchat influencer.” While a third quipped: “Hopefully the bus door isn't scratched.”

Haaland’s love for Snapchat previously saw him tease a new hairstyle to his followers as he used a bald filter to see if he could pull off a style similar to his manager Pep Guardiola.

Haaland hit out at the decision on social media, posting on Snapchat at 2am: “Speak out, Bryne FK. What the hell is going on?”

Responding to a fan who asked why he wasn’t sleeping, Haaland replied: “Yeah I should but it’s chaos in my hometown club and it p***** me off so now I can’t sleep.”
