For 24 years, the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick were the league’s top partnership.
They dominated the football scene like few teams in the past, but not all things end well.
The Patriots moved on from their GM-head coach, and while team owner Robert Kraft insists that their relationship ended amicably, Belichick clearly doesn’t feel the same way.
That’s why he’s banned Patriots scouts from attending UNC practices or scouting the program’s players, and when asked about that, the multi-time Super Bowl winner had a simple response:
“It’s clear I’m not welcome there at their facility. So they’re not welcome at ours. It’s pretty simple,” Belichick said.

The fact that the UNC Tar Heels are allowing this to happen should spark countless red flags.
This is a huge disservice to the program’s players, not to mention a dangerous precedent.
Bill Belichick is there to win football games, but he’s also there to find and develop future NFL players, and he’s actively sabotaging their chances of doing so.
It should never be about one person, especially when we’re talking about a program that has never been known for being a football powerhouse; they’re a basketball school.
So far, hiring Belichick has drawn them plenty of attention, but not for the best reasons.
It’s all been full of drama, with the legendary head coach doing the exact opposite of what he did during his days in the pros.
It would be a shame to see his legacy tarnished by this type of thing.
Hopefully, the program will force his hand to backpedal on this decision and put his players in a position to succeed; it’s not all about him.
