'Here we go' - Fabrizio Romano has just confirmed Man Utd exit update, deal done

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is set to depart the club on loan, according to reports - with the former Ajax man set for a loan move to Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor.

Onana has struggled in his time at United, being given the vote of confidence by Erik ten Hag in the Dutchman's time at Old Trafford - but new boss Ruben Amorim hasn't been as forgiving, with backup Turkish stopper Altay Bayindir instead coming to the fore in the latter stages of last season in the Premier League.

Romano: Onana to Trabzonspor is 'Here We Go', No Buy Option

His lack of games towards the end of the campaign saw Onana linked with a move away from United for the majority of the summer, though a deal wasn't agreed within the English transfer window period, which made it seem as though Onana would stay at Old Trafford until January.

However, the report by GIVEMESPORT transfer correspondent Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter) states that Onana is now set to finalise his move to Trabzonspor, giving the move his famous 'Here We Go!' catchphrase.

All contracts are now signed at Onana's end, who is waiting for a 'counter-approval' from Trabzonspor, where he will travel next week.

United signed off on a deal on Saturday, but there is no buy option or a loan fee, with Amorim instead using new man Senne Lammens as his first-choice goalkeeper, whilst Bayindir will be his backup.

Onana made 51 appearances for United in his first season at the club, being between the sticks for all of their Champions League fixtures in which they were knocked out of the group stages - and with a further 50 last season, it's clear that United were willing to persist to see if performances could improve.

However, that is no longer the case, and he will join the Turkish Cup runners-up, who boast former Premier League talents such as Okay Yokuslu, Paul Onuachu and Stefan Savic among others. Trabzonspor have won three games from three in the top-flight and Onana could look to bring home their eighth title if he can hit the ground running.
