Manchester United ended up having a rather busy end to the summer transfer window, and there is still the potential for more business to come.
United completed the signing of goalkeeper Senne Lammens on a permanent deal from Royal Antwerp on transfer deadline day. The 23-year-old arrived at Old Trafford after the Reds agreed an £18.2million deal (plus add-ons) to bring the shot-stopper to the club.
Lammens' arrival has since led to speculation around the futures of Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir. Onana has been heavily linked with a move away from United all summer, and recent days have seen those rumours intensify.
A loan deal with Trabzonspor is reportedly on the cards for Onana, with the transfer window in Turkey not closing until September 12 (Friday). A fresh report from The Mirror has provided some insight into United's recent transfer decisions.
The report claims that United decided to go all-in on signing Lammens following the club's defeat to Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup. It has been claimed that Onana's performance in the second-round tie led to United deciding to bring in a new goalkeeper.
Onana is yet to feature in the Premier League for United so far this season and it remains to be seen if the Cameroon international will play again for the Reds this term in the top flight. Ruben Amorim has selected Bayindir in the first three top-flight fixtures this season and could turn to Lammens now that the Belgium Under-21 international is part of the squad.
