Toraya Reid, was two years older than her brother Naz. A homicide investigation is underway. A 29-year-old suspect, Shaquille Green, has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Green was in a relationship with Reid and fled the scene following the incident. Police arrived to the apartment complex around 11 am and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds.

Naz called his older sister, Toraya, protective and suggested that she “treats us like she’s our parent.” Naz’s younger sister, Jakahya, shared her anger and pain in a recent Facebook post.

The Timberwolves kick off training camp on September 29. Just weeks from today Reid will be asked to try and pick up the pieces from such a tragedy and head back to work. You can bet he will be playing with a heavy heart this season, and never forget the level of pain that came to his doorstep this weekend.
