The Lions will be looking to pick up right where they left off last season, after finishing first in the NFC North with a 15-2 record. They’ll get key players like Aidan Hutchinson back from injury and will return nearly all of their starters. Quarterback Jared Goff will be back in action today after another impressive season last year in which he finished second in the league in yards (4,629) and fourth in touchdowns (37).

The Packers are looking to pose a threat in the division this season, having recently added four-time Pro Bowler Micah Parsons to their roster. He’s listed as questionable to play in today’s opener with a back injury, but will be looking to cause some trouble for the Lions’ offense should he play. Green Bay will be led by third-year starting quarterback Jordan Love despite a thumb injury he sustained in the preseason.

Detroit won both of their meetings last year, earning a 24-14 win in Green Bay and narrowly coming up with a 34-31 victory at home with a depleted defense.
