The Arizona Cardinals will be without safety Joey Blount and rookie Cody Simon the rest of the way against the New Orleans Saints.
The duo was ruled out with concussions after colliding late in the first half of Sunday’s game.
Additionally, pass rusher Zaven Collins is questionable to return with a hand issue.
Losing Blount is a tough loss for Arizona’s special teams unit.
Voted a first-time captain by his peers, Blount has carved out a role as the Cardinals’ special teams ace.
Simon has also found a home on special teams as he continues to find his NFL footing. The rookie out of Ohio State slots in as the likely backup MIKE backer behind starter Mack Wilson Sr.
With Blount sidelined, rookie Kitan Crawford could be in line for some added special teams usage.
The rookie impressed this training camp as both a defender and special teamer.
The Cardinals lead the Saints 20-10 in the third quarter.
