Arsenal defender William Saliba was forced off just five minutes into last Sunday’s Premier League clash at Anfield after twisting his ankle.
The French centre-half initially tried to play through the pain but was soon replaced by Cristhian Mosquera, with Mikel Arteta admitting post-match that he was “worried” about the injury.
Saliba was subsequently withdrawn from the France squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine and Iceland.
According to recent reports, the 24-year-old is expected to return to action within two to three weeks.
Stephen Smith, CEO and founder of Kitman Labs, described the injury as “innocuous” and suggested it should heal relatively quickly.

The recovery timeline indicates Saliba may miss only two fixtures — the Premier League trip to Nottingham Forest on September 13 and Arsenal’s Champions League opener against Athletic Bilbao on September 16.
Smith believes Saliba has a “huge chance” of being available for the crucial Premier League showdown with Manchester City on September 21.

His return would provide a major boost to Arsenal’s title ambitions, particularly with key matches against Forest, City, and Newcastle United approaching.

Arsenal, however, are already battling a lengthy injury list.
Bukayo Saka is sidelined with a hamstring issue, Kai Havertz is recovering from knee surgery, and long-term absentees remain a concern.
In Saliba’s absence, Arteta may turn to new signing Piero Hincapié to partner Gabriel Magalhães, while Riccardo Calafiori is also pushing for opportunities. The Gunners’ squad depth will be tested heavily in the coming weeks.
For Arsenal fans, the update offers some relief. While Saliba’s absence will be felt, a swift return would allow him to play a pivotal role in the club’s toughest run of fixtures so far this season.
