Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries.
According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea could make a move to sign Denzel Dumfries in the future. The Inter Milan wing-back is keen on trying a new challenge, and he would prefer a move to the Premier League.
After making a name for himself at PSV Eindhoven, Dumfries joined Inter in the summer of 2021, and he hasn’t looked back since. The 29-year-old has not only established himself as one of their mainstays, but he is also widely regarded as one of the best attacking full-backs in the world.
While he remains a key part of their plans, his future has become an interesting talking point despite having three years left on his deal. Dumfries is set to part ways with Inter if the right opportunity comes along. He was willing to leave this summer, but things didn’t go according to plan.
The Dutch international is ready for a new challenge away from Inter. While there is no shortage of interest in him, he prefers a move to the Premier League. The 29-year-old is waiting for the perfect opportunity, believing his style is perfectly suited to the English top flight.
Premier League giants could battle for Dumfries
He has a great off-the-ball work rate, a strong physical presence, and is effective at both ends of the pitch. Given his quality, clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal could consider making a move for him.
Dumfries could be a perfect fit for Amorim’s system. He prefers having very attack-minded full-backs, and the 29-year-old is amongst the best in that role. With Noussair Mazraoui’s future uncertain, he could come in to replace the Moroccan international.
While the Blues have Reece James in their ranks, his injury track record suggests they could look for another world-class option at right-back, and Dumfries could certainly fit the bill. The right-back position has been a long-standing issue for Arsenal, and signing the Inter star could help resolve it.
Inter wouldn’t want to part ways with a player of his quality, but they might not have many options if he is determined to move to England. The report suggests the asking price could be around €25 to €30 million, which certainly wouldn’t be a problem for any of the three clubs.
