[After a minimal lightning delay](/post/EPAUoS5CdSu_), the Denver Broncos and Tennessee Titans resumed the game after halftime.
A solid first down run by JK Dobbins was followed by another errant and telegraphed Bo Nix throw that was intercepted and returned to the Broncos 26-yard line. Denver’s defense continued to be stout and forced the Titans to kick a field goal after the ugly turnover.
Starting from their own 37-yard line on their next drive, it looked like they were about to go three-and-out, but Marvin Mims Jr. beat the slant and was pulled down by the facemask for another 15-yards on that to get into Titans’ territory.
A holding penalty set them back though to a 1st and 20 on the next play. A short screen to RJ Harvey got a couple, but then Nix took off for the first time in the game for an 11 yard gain to bring up a third and seven. Nix would then hit Courtland Sutton on a quick out for an eight yard gain and a first down. JK Dobbins then ripped off an eight yard gain and a one yard gain to bring up another third down — but a short one this time. Nix would sneak it forward for the first down at the 19 yard line.
Two plays later on third and two, Nix from the shotgun, handed off inside to JK Dobbins for no gain. They would retake the lead, though, on a Wil Lutz field goal.
Justin Strnad came alive for the defense on the next drive with a sack and a pressure to force the Titans into a third and 14. Ward dumped it off short and somehow their tight end breaks all the tackles for the first down. A holding call would ultimately kill their drive with Pat Surtain II obliterating a third down pass attempt to Calvin Ridley and a deep ball with Riley Moss in coverage was broken up.
Facing a quick three-and-out, Nix found Evan Engram wide open who turned up field and fought for the first down. Sutton was absolutely mugged on the next series, but the no call from the refs led to the drive ending and the end of the third quarter.
