Rookie QB Jalen Milroe active for Seahawks' opener vs 49ers

Rookie third-string quarterback Jalen Milroe is active for the Seattle Seahawks’ season opener on Sunday afternoon against the San Francisco 49ers.

Seahawks elevate two defenders from practice squad

That leaves open the possibility the Seahawks could sprinkle in the speedy Milroe as a change-of-pace weapon in specialty packages, as head coach Mike Macdonald has alluded to.

Seattle’s inactives for Sunday are edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu, wide receiver Jake Bobo, wide receiver Dareke Young, undrafted rookie edge rusher Jared Ivey, undrafted rookie edge rusher Connor O’Toole, rookie offensive lineman Mason Richman and undrafted rookie tight end Nick Kallerup.

Nwosu, Bobo and Young were each ruled out on Friday. Nwosu is working back from offseason knee surgery, while Bobo has been in concussion protocol and Young has a hamstring injury.
