Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills opened the 2025 NFL season with a “Sunday Night Football” matchup against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens at Highmark Stadium. Cris Collinsworth, who joined the show in 2009 in place of John Madden, was on the call for NBC alongside Mike Tirico and Melissa Stark.

After winning his first NFL MVP in 2024, Allen couldn’t get past Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in the AFC Championship. Yet, the former Wyoming quarterback had a big offseason, getting married to award-winning actress Hailee Steinfeld.

Throughout Sunday’s Bills vs. Ravens game, Collinsworth was constantly bringing up Steinfeld, mentioning her on multiple occasions throughout the first quarter.

“With Hailee around, you can really tell he’s a happy guy,” Collinsworth said in one of the few mentions of Steinfeld.

NFL fans took notice of Collinsworth constantly bringing up Allen and Steinfeld, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.

“Cris Collinsworth saying that Josh Allen is more into action movies than his wife Hailee Steinfeld after her defining movie role in 2025 was ‘Sinners’ is some non-ball-knowing malarkey,” one fan said.

“Why was collinsworth just hitting on hailee like that,” asked another.

“What is Collinsworth even talking about? Hailee Steinfeld is literally in the MCU. He’s saying she doesn’t like action movies? He just says things to say things,” wrote a third.

“The way Cris Collinsworth is talking about Josh Allen & Hailee Steinfeld feels creepy 🫣,” posted a fourth.

“Collinsworth has brought up Hailee like 4 times already lmao,” added a fifth.

“Collinsworth really honing in on Hailee Steinfeld there lmao,” wrote a sixth.

In the same quarter, Allen opened the season with a touchdown pass to Dalton Kincaid, and Collinsworth was on the call.
