What an absolute thriller of a game between the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football. The National Football League saved its best game for the final game of the night.

The Bills scored 22 fourth-quarter points to come from behind and beat the Ravens 41-40. While all the questions are being asked to the Baltimore staff and players, the other side, in Buffalo, is jumping for joy, getting off to a 1-0 start, and winning their final season opener at Hallmark Stadium.

But what the two teams did combined was something that had never been done in NFL history.

No game in the history of the NFL had ever ended with a final score of 41-40, until this one.

The game started with the Bills scoring first, as Josh Allen found Dalton Kincaid just 3:41 into the game. Baltimore came back with a field goal, and it was a pretty normal first quarter, with the Bills leading 7-3.

Derrick Henry was the next to strike, as he rushed for 30 yards into the end zone early in the second to make it 10-7 Baltimore. Lamar Jackson took his turn next, from 10 yards out, and Baltimore’s lead was ten. The rest of the half saw three field goals, and the score was 20-13 Ravens at halftime.

The second half started with a Zay Flowers touchdown to put the Ravens up two scores. James Cook scored next for Buffalo, but the Bills failed to convert the two-point conversion. The third quarter was not done, as DeAndre Hopkins caught a 29-yard pass for a touchdown, and after three, it was 34-19 Ravens.

That’s when the fun really started. Allen rushed from 2 yards out with 12:51 to go, but once again the Bills could not record the two-point conversion. Then, many felt the Derrick Henry run from 46 yards out would be the straw that broke the camel’s back. Baltimore went up 40-25.

With 3:56 left, Allen found Keon Coleman for 10 yards and a score, and Buffalo had life. The Bills then forced Derrick Henry to fumble, and Buffalo took advantage of it with an Allen rushing touchdown. Buffalo missed the two-point conversion for the third time, and still trailed the game 40-39.

Finally, after a three-and-out by the Baltimore offense, the Bills moved the ball down the field once again to set Matt Prater up from 32 yards, and he nailed the field goal to win the game. It was the very first game for Prater with the organization.

Allen finished with 394 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, along with 30 rushing yards and two more scores on the ground. Coleman caught eight passes for 112 yards and a score. On the losing side, Henry rushed 18 times for 169 yards and two scores, while Zay Flowers ended the game with 143 receiving yards and a touchdown.
