Manchester United have agreed to send Andre Onana on loan to Turkish side Trabzonspor
Manchester United have agreed to send goalkeeper Andre Onana on loan to Turkish side Trabzonspor for the duration of the 2025-26 campaign.
The Turkish transfer window is open until Friday night and a deal to send the Cameroon goalkeeper to the Turkish Super Lig is expected to be done this week. Trabzonspor travel to Fenerbahce on Sunday night and are keen to get a deal over the line well ahead of that game.
Trabzonspor have started the season in Turkey with three wins and one draw in four league games, as they sit two points behind league leaders Galatasaray - who have a 100 per cent record after four games.
A deal was agreed between the clubs on Saturday but Onana himself had yet to green light the move. There will be no loan fee for United or option to buy in the deal. Now the goalkeeper has agreed to make the move. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on X: “André Onana agrees to join Trabzonspor, here we go!
“All contracts are now signed on player side, waiting on counter approval from Trabzonspor and travel next week. Deal done on loan from Manchester United as revealed on Saturday, no buy option or loan fee.”
Onana has yet to play in the Premier League for United this season, with Ruben Amorim preferring Altay Bayındır as his number one choice. Onana did get the chance to play in the second round of the Carabao Cup but he produced an unimpressive performance as the Red Devils were knocked out of the competition by League Two Grimsby.
United have made the decision to send Onana away on loan after signing Senne Lammens on deadline day from Royal Antwerp.
Onana’s exit follows the departures of Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho among several others.
