Manchester United will be relieved the spotlight has shifted away from them temporarily after a nightmare start to the new season.

The Red Devils were dominating the headlines throughout the summer as Ruben Amorim opened the chequebook. United bosses splashed more than £200m strengthening his squad, only for the club to endure a disastrous start to the campaign, with a loss at home to Arsenal, a draw away at Fulham and then a humiliating cup exit.

A shock loss to League Two outfit Grimsby Town saw United hit rock bottom just as the transfer window drew to a close. The club is currently enjoying a brief respite after a win over Burnley at home eased the pressure, and with the ongoing international break having paused domestic fixtures.

However, news continues to emerge from Old Trafford, particularly regarding the fitness of several attacking players. There might also be additional transfers in the pipeline over the next few days, despite the window having shut nearly a week ago. With all of that considered, here's a roundup of all the developments from Old Trafford.

Rashford issued England ultimatum

Thomas Tuchel has urged Marcus Rashford to maintain his commitment for England, despite acknowledging the versatile attacker has failed to 'wow' whilst wearing the Three Lions jersey, reports the Mirror.

"He struggles a bit with numbers and with the 'wow' performance in an England shirt, I agree," Tuchel remarked following Saturday's 2-0 victory over Andorra.

"But as long as he trains like he did and behaves and is active and alive in the group, then we will always trust him and push him and support him.

"I can see that he tries, this is for me the most important that he stays positive and he trains at the moment with the right attitude, with a smile and with a lot of quality."

The United outcast is currently on loan at Barcelona, where the 27-year-old is said to have left Nou Camp bosses unimpressed, describing him as "shy, imprecise and lost" on the pitch, but claims they could send him back to England have been branded "absolutely rubbish".

United's calamity keeper Andre Onana has reportedly agreed to join Trabzonspor.

The Turkish Super Lig club made an approach to United over a loan deal to sign Onana, with their transfer window not closing until next week.

United agreed to the offer, but the final decision rested with Onana, who has now reportedly given his approval to the move, just two years after arriving at Old Trafford for £47m.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported that the 29-year-old Cameroonian has signed his contract and is waiting on the final green light to come from Trabzonspor before travelling to Turkey next week.

Amorim warned against fielding Bayindir

Amorim has been cautioned against selecting under-fire goalkeeper Altay Bayindir again after a disappointing start to the campaign. Former Chelsea legend Craig Burley told ESPN: "Altay Bayindir, they can't play him.

"He might be okay at shot-stopping which is what goalkeepers are paid for but he's absolutely useless at dealing with balls in from set-pieces. This new lad [Lammens] needs to be able to marshal a back four, make saves and have an authority and make a statement at set-pieces.

"That's what every team is going to do against United now, they're going to launch balls into the box and the goalkeeper needs to be able to deal with it. He's either going to sink or swim. We don't really know how he's going to handle this scenario."
