On August 31st, Oscar Bobb played the full 90 minutes in Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 22-year-old was supposed to travel to the Norway camp for this international break, scheduled to join Manchester City teammate Erling Haaland and Fulham’s Sander Berge on a private jet.
[Dagbladet](https://www.dagbladet.no/sport/skulle-vaert-med/83559101) report the Manchester City player didn’t accompany his compatriots and instead arrived a day later.
There was concern over his fitness after Norway manager Ståle Solbakken confirmed a week ago that he had to undergo a scan. Dagbladet had a chat with the Manchester City player and specifically asked why he had to go in for that scan.
Responding to that, he said: _“It was nothing. I felt something in my thigh, and then it turned out there was nothing.”_
Bobb featured in Norway’s 1-0 friendly win over Finland and could be involved in their World Cup qualifiers against Moldova on Tuesday.
Last August, the Norway international suffered a foot injury and spent most part of the 2024/25 season on the sidelines. He started in all three league games for the Citizens this season and even registered an assist in their 4-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
After the clash against Wolves, Pep Guardiola said he realises how much his side “missed Bobb last season.
On the Manchester City manager praising him, Bobb explained: _“It’s great. It’s always nice. Yes, good \[his relationship with Guardiola\]. He’s a very nice guy. We have a professional relationship. He’s nice.”_
The Norwegian doesn’t want to take his place at Manchester City for granted even though he’s started three league games this season.
_“It’s quite early. We’ve had a few injuries in my position. I wouldn’t say I’m guaranteed anything. I don’t see myself as someone who has that spot completely. When I come back now, I focus on what I’ve always done. It’s everyday life, and training to get back into the team,”_ he added.
