Cameroon international Bryan Mbeumo has won two accolades after enjoying a good start to life as a Manchester United player.
The left-footed attacker left Brentford and joined fellow Premier League club Manchester United for a reported fee of £71 million, comprising £65 million guaranteed and £6 million in potential add-ons in July.
Mbeumo has been named United’s Player of the Month for August and has also scooped the Goal of the Month award as a reward for his promising start at the Red Devils.
“Bryan Mbeumo has been named Manchester United’s Player of the Month for August, awarded in association with Tiger,” a club statement read.
“The classy forward, currently away on international duty with Cameroon, beat off competition from fellow nominees Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt to earn the trophy.
“With supporters voting in their thousands in the United App, it is clear the former Brentford man has already impressed sufficiently to be taken into the hearts of the Reds’ faithful. Furthermore, his maiden Premier League strike, against Burnley, was voted our first Goal of the Month of the new season.”
The 26-year-old, who has netted two goals in four matches for United, is expected to start when the Red Devils take on Manchester City in a league game on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium.
