Leeds United and Rangers are both owned by the 49ers group, and their decision to buy the majority shares of the Glasgow giants earlier this year did not go unnoticed at Elland Road. However, the two have so far remained off each other’s pathways.
The Whites are in the Premier League, which should make them more valuable to the 49ers. However, Leeds fans are not happy about the level of spending they saw in the summer when the club forked out more than £100m on ten new signings to retool Daniel Farke’s squad for the top flight.

However, the club failed to bring in the necessary attacking reinforcements towards the end of the transfer window, which has led to growing resentment towards the owners among a section of the Leeds supporters.
But a flashpoint could be on the cards as Leeds and Rangers are claimed to be interested in signing the same high-profile free agent, which could lead to a clash between the two clubs owned by the same group.

Leeds and Rangers are pushing to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on a free transfer
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is available on a free transfer after he negotiated to terminate his contract with Turkish giants Besiktas towards the end of the window.
Leeds have been linked with an interest in the 32-year-old midfielder all summer. However, they are facing competition from Premier League clubs such as Everton, Brentford and Burnley.
However, according to TBR Football, Rangers are pushing the hardest to sign the former Arsenal and Liverpool star on a free transfer in the coming days.
The Glasgow giants are aware of the interest from the Premier League, but they are trying to convince Oxlade-Chamberlain to move to Scotland this summer.
The 49ers backed Rangers heavily towards the end of the window despite a poor start to the season, and are keen to deliver the former Liverpool star to manager Russell Martin.
Leeds have their eyes on him, and it remains to be seen what the 49ers do if Farke pushes the club to get a deal done to sign the midfielder in the coming days.
Leeds do not need Oxlade-Chamberlain
Leeds have a few injury issues in midfield, but it is not a big enough crisis for the club to bring in a new signing for the middle of the park.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was past his best for the top-flight by the time he left Liverpool two years back, and he did very little at Besiktas.
He has interest from the Championship, where Birmingham City are keen to sign him, and a move to Rangers should also make sense for him.
He is no longer good enough to be in the Premier League, and Leeds have already made it clear they do not feel the need to bring in free agents.
