Medical tests tomorrow for Aston Villa player – May be able to play this month

Last week, there were doubts about whether Aston Villa loanee Leon Bailey could return to action for AS Roma in October or whether it would take even longer.

The winger picked up a muscle injury in his first training session with the Italian club and there was uncertainty about his return.

Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport has some positives for the player, who joined Roma from Aston Villa on a loan with the option to buy in August.

The newspaper reports the 28-year-old will have further medical tests on Tuesday morning to know more about the extent of his injury.

In the meantime, the Jamaican is continuing personalised training and things are looking better for him, if all goes well he may even be able to make his Roma debut against Nice in the Europa League on September 24th.

Whether he starts that game or not remains to be seen, but Bailey is eager to play for his new club and make himself known to Giallorossi fans.

Those tests on Tuesday are key, but from a situation of not expecting him back until after the October international break, things are looking more positive.
