JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A look inside the numbers and snap counts from Sunday's 26-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Panthers had a franchise-record 12 rookies on their initial 53-man roster, tied for the most in the NFL (Cleveland and New England).
Rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan led the Panthers receiving corps with 68 receiving yards. This marks the third-most by a Panthers rookie in their debut, behind Muhsin Muhammad (96 yards) and Kelvin Benjamin (92). McMillan also led the Panthers with five receptions, tied for the third-most by a Carolina receiver in their debut.
Against the Jaguars, second-year receiver Xavier Legette finished with three receptions for 10 yards, which helped him surpass 50 receptions and 500 yards for his career.
Defensive end A'Shawn Robinson picked up a quarterback hit against the Jaguars, bringing him to 30 QBH in the span of his career.
In the first quarter, safety Tre'von Moehrig recorded the 200th tackle of his career. He led the Panthers with 11 tackles (four solo) on Sunday.
Corner Mike Jackson eclipsed 150 solo tackles for his career in the second quarter. He finished with four tackles, including one for loss, and a pass breakup against the Jags.
In the third quarter, corner Jaycee Horn picked off Trevor Lawrence and returned it 9 yards. This marked Horn's sixth interception of his career.
According to Next Gen Stats, Bryce Young completed 18 of his 35 pass attempts for 154 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the Panthers' Week 1 loss to the Jaguars, which was a -13.1 completion percentage over expected.
Young was efficient on quick passes (under 2.5 seconds), completing 11-of-15 attempts for 92 yards and his lone touchdown (+0.7 CPOE), but fared less well on attempts with a time to throw over 2.5 seconds, completing 7-of-20 attempts for 62 yards and an interception (-23.5 CPOE).
On the Panthers opening drive, rookie kicker Ryan Fitzgerald drilled a 48-yarder, the first field goal of his career. Fitzgerald finished the day going 1-for-1 on field goals and 1-for-1 on PATs.
The game was delayed for 1 hour and 16 minutes during second quarter due to lightning.

You can tell what the base offense is, since the Panthers went three wide receivers on two-thirds of the plays, with Tetairoa McMillan getting 83 percent, Xavier Legette getting 78 percent, and Hunter Renfrow getting 66 percent.
Chuba Hubbard also got the bulk of the running back work, with 43 of the 64 snaps, with Rico Dowdle taking 22.
Wide receiver Brycen Tremayne has carved out a niche for himself (they like big receivers). He got 19 snaps of offense (30 percent) plus a healthy 64 percent of the special teams snaps.

The starting secondary played all 66 defensive snaps, along with Christian Rozeboom. Dave Canales said he was impressed with the team's conditioning on a hot day.
Derrick Brown has always been a high-workload guy, and they'd love to pace him a little. He still played 48 snaps (73 percent). That's low for him but high for most guys his size. Even with Tershawn Wharton leaving with an injury, they still rotated in Bobby Brown III and Jaden Crumedy along with A'Shawn Robinson's regular heavy workload to give him some small amount of rest.
