The perfect RM/RWB transfer target is falling into Manchester United’s lap

It has been a long road back for Manchester United, and there have been more bumps in it than victory laps. The Red Devils finally picked up their first win of the 2025/26 Premier League season last weekend, taking advantage of an easy fixture against newcomers Burnley to bounce back from an embarrassing League Cup exit to Grimsby Town.

Manchester United are still waiting for the fruits of their attacking overhaul this past summer transfer window, though Bryan Mbeumo did give the Red Devils reason for optimism with a strong, Man of the Match performance.

There are still a few holes remaining for the Red Devils to patch up, and if they are committed to Ruben Amorim as their manager, then they are going to need to keep helping him sign the players he needs to succeed in this 3-4-3 scheme that he appears to be married to.

The young Amad Diallo has been a strong option on the right flank as a midfielder or even wing back in this system, but Manchester United could use another option with more dynamism and attacking output to replace veteran backup Diogo Dalot.

Denzel Dumfries is ready for a Premier League transfer

Denzel Dumfries didn’t leave Inter Milan this summer transfer window, but the Dutch veteran right midfielder is making it publicly known that he is interested in a transfer to the Premier League.

He said, per Fabrizio Romano, “I play in Serie A and I’m comfortable at Inter, but I think I could do well in the Premier League too. I’d definitely be interested. The Premier League is known for its intensity, while Serie A is one of the strongest leagues tactically”.

Dumfries was linked to Aston Villa in the past, so the fact that he didn’t move to Unai Emery’s side despite their massive need for a right back is huge for Manchester United, and if he’s openly flirting with a Premier League transfer, then Man United absolutely should be picking up the phone in the next transfer window to assess his availability.

With two Champions League Final appearances and a Serie A title to his name, Dumfries is a stud and a proven winner who transforms an attack with his athleticism, work rate, ball progression, and even end product.

Diallo is a really good player who should be a key part of United’s future, but he shouldn’t be the only option. Manchester United need depth, and Dumfries would bring them quality depth, no doubt.
