The Baltimore Ravens were stunned in their season opener against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night. The Ravens had a 40-25 lead with the ball in their hands and under eight minutes remaining in the game. However, Bills quarterback Josh Allen led his team to a historic comeback to beat Lamar Jackson and the Ravens 41-40.

While the incredible comeback from the Bills was possibly the biggest headline from the game, an altercation Jackson had with a Bills fan stole the limelight as well.

After Jackson connected with DeAndre Hopkins on a 29-yard touchdown pass with just over a minute remaining in the third quarter, a fan on the sideline hit both Hopkins and Jackson on the helmet. This caused Jackson to retaliate with a shove to the fan.

After the game, Jackson reflected on the incident and said what really caused his reaction.

“He slapped me, he talking, so I just forgot where I was for a little bit,” Jackson said, per SportsCenter. “You gotta think in those situations. We got security out there. Let security handle it. I let my emotions get the best of me. Hopefully it don’t happen again. I’ll learn from that.”

Outside of the fan altercation, Jackson was phenomenal in the losing effort. He was 14-of-19 passing for 209 yards and two touchdowns, while adding six carries for 70 yards and one score on the ground.

While this loss stings, for Jackson, head coach John Harbaugh and the rest of the Ravens they have a lot of time left in the season to bounce back. This starts with a matchup against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 14 at 1 p.m. ET.
