Josh Jacobs delivers big message to Packers fans after humiliating Lions

The Green Bay Packers looked scary right out of the gate of the 2025 NFL regular season. On Sunday, Josh Jacobs and company thwarted the Detroit Lions’ dream of scoring a win at Lambeau Field, as the Packers walloped the visiting team to the tune of a 27-13 score. Green Bay dominated on both ends of the field.

On offense,Jordan Love sliced through Detroit’s defense for 188 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions and no sacks.

On the ground,Jacobs rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. It wasn’t exactly an efficient performance by Jacobs, but at the end of the day, Green Bay got the win against the two-time defending NFC North division champions.

“What’s up with it Pack? Division rival. Great opponent. Came out here and got that dub. Let’s get it,” the former Alabama Crimson Tidesaidafter the game.

Detroit made a concerted effort to contain Jacobs, which was a significant reason for the relatively inefficient showing by the three-time Pro Bowler. Nevertheless, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur had nothing but good things to say about Jacobs, who rushed for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns on 301 carries in 2024, his first season with Green Bay.

“He’s the best team guy. I know you guys saw the C’s on the jerseys, LaFleurtold reportersduring the postgame press conference.

“That’s the reason why is he told me after the game, he’s like ‘hey, I just want to win period.’ Credit to the Lions, we knew going into this game that they were going to load the box, play man coverage and try to take Josh Jacobs away, and so you have to combat that somehow, some way and we had to do it through the passing game.”
