French World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe has made Arsenal the favourites for the Premier League title ahead of Liverpool.
Speaking in an interview with German tabloid Bild, the Real Madrid star initially named three contenders for top spot:
“Of course, Liverpool has to be mentioned first and foremost, as they’re determined to win one title after another, but I also have high hopes for Arsenal, because the core of the team has known each other for a long time, and that’s a crucial factor in football. And Manchester City is always at the forefront anyway, with Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland.”

When pressed for his favourite, Mbappe decided to go with the Gunners rather than Arne Slot’s team:
“That’s tough. Maybe Arsenal, maybe it will be their year. It would certainly be easier to say City or Liverpool.”
Salah agrees with Mbappe on title favourites
It should be pointed out that the France international uses the same reason as Mo Salah when claiming that Arsenal should be regarded as the leading contender for the title.
Mbappe cites the fact that the Gunners have a squad that has been together a long time, while both Liverpool and City have made major changes to their respective starting elevens.
The bookies believe Liverpool will win the league
Having beaten Arsenal at Anfield last time out, it is not surprising that the bookmakers have given the Reds the shortest odds to finish top of the table.
Slot’s men are currently priced between 6/5 and 13/10 to lift the Premier League trophy for a second season in a row.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have seen their odds lengthen to 15/8 over the past ten days, while Manchester City’s second defeat in three matches has led their price to increase to 7/1.
