Fulham midfielder Sander Berge has told Nettavisen that Norway are ‘much stronger’ as they attempt to reach a major international tournament finals for the first time in two decades.
The Norwegians, last seen at a finals in 1998, are in a good position heading into this week’s international fixtures as they hold a strong lead over both Israel and Italy in their qualifying group, and Berge believes this squad benefit from a different mentality to previous sides he has been involved in.
The midfielder said:
“The group has become much stronger and does not stress out in the run-up to international matches. That often results in good performances. We do not focus on what is required and how many goals you have to have. The most important thing is to win.”
